Volvo V60 Polestar Engineered
Discussion
Does anyone have any real world experience of these? I'm in the process of considering buying one. I'm well aware of the cars "issues". Expensive, doesn't sound brilliant with it being a 4 pot, damn heavy, fuel consumption drops like a stone if you come off the electric etc etc.
However, for me at least, the car appears on the surface to make up for all it's faults with the way it looks both inside and out and it's very likely to be more than fast enough in the real world. Add to that the apparent reputation of the majority of the dealers and it seems to be a very good if somewhat leftfield option.
The plan is for me to run the car for 2 years and then pass it across to Mrs Z to replace her Honda Accord estate, so the V60 will be a long term keeper.
It would be useful to hear if anyone actually has any real world experience of the car though, just in case I'm missing something obvious.
TIA

I’ve got a s60 T8, it has the polestar software as an option but not a full fat PE car, it’s pretty close to what you are considering in terms of performance can’t comment on handling. Mines a 2020 model and does about 27 miles on battery it takes about 4 hours to charge, I wouldn’t agree that off battery the economy is terrible, no worse than other similar petrol cars, I’m averaging about 55mpg with a mix of driving.
It is a quick car but doesn’t feel it, mines got loads of options including the bowers and Wilkins sound, pano roof, all the safety stuff, 360 cameras, upgraded wheels etc etc, makes it a nice drive, debatable if the options are worth almost £10k!! Due to the chip shortage lots of options not available, so be careful with the spec, they’ve also done silly things like remove the buttons they had with more reliance on the screen, backward step in my opinion.
A good package overall, fast but not particularly fun, it does what’s indicated on the tin.
