Surprisingly couldn't find any previous posts on this.

What size/type of extingisher do I need to stop the plastic fantastic going up in smoke?? And where do wedge owners mount them?

Cheers,

The bigger the better (within reason). I carry an AFFF type, 2.4L hand held. Sits in the space behind the end of the drivers seat, the closed door prevents any movement. If you're going to mount it in the cabin, you need to be absolutely sure that it won't go flying in the event of an impact etc. Try Rally Design or Demon Tweaks.

Great minds think alike!
Mine is in the same place after trying all sorts including in the boot up in the top near the bulkhead. Only thing was couldn't fit the roof panel in. Did I laugh.
BTW I have two extinguishers... one in each side. You can't be too carefull!!!

Thanks. Done some homework and the Halon ones would be the best for a car fire only they're illegal to own in W. Australia. Apparently 1KG destroys 50 tonnes of ozone so they've been banned.

Looks like CO2 is next best but they're very pricey...much more than the excess on my insurance policy.

The foam ones are okay but conduct electricity due to the water content(might be okay in th car but don't use it on the TV)and the powder ones will stuff your engine bay for ever...

Lots on EBay but methinks I'd like a new one..

Thanks to the guys that responded.
