Leasing vehicle claim on insurance
Discussion
Can anyone help please, sorry before I start it’s a long one and never been in this situation before so don’t know what to do.
I have been leasing a vehicle, which I thought to be stolen at the time so told insurance, leasing company, police etc.
In the last 24 hours I have found out that my actually lease company have leased the car from someone else and they have taken the car from my drive due to legal dispute (my lease company say) I don’t believe this I believe they haven’t paid bills and that’s why they have collected.
But…… in the meantime my insurance are now about to pay out the fee of the car to myself (even though I don’t own the car) and this has been noted on all my insurance (marshmallow insurance)
What do I do??? Surely I can’t take the money as I don’t own the car so it’s not my money! The police and my lease company are saying it’s still classed as stolen as shouldn’t of been taking off my private property without me knowing!
Please help ASAP as ringing insurance back tomorrow first thing.
Any questions let me know and will answer best I can
Cheers

I’m by no means an expert on this but it is very interesting.
What I gather is you believe the car never belonged to the company you leased from. They haven’t paid their bills and the car has been reprocessed due to their fault. Where it effects you is it’s your insurance that is negatively effected.
I’d speak to your insurance company and explain as best you can and see what they say. They might delay the payment and investigate.
If your premium wasn’t effected I’d say let them all sort it between themselves.
