Just as a point to natter about - why is it due a service?
I have a point of view on servicing - which may or may not appeal.
A watch service requires the watch to be fully taken apart, worn (or broken) parts replaced and then reassembled.
A repair requires the watch to be fully taken apart, broken parts replaced and then reassembled.
Replacement parts are generally not expensive, it's the taking apart and reassembly that costs the money.
As a consequence I have always ignored the 'service every 5 years' or whatever, and wait until the watch is losing time or has stopped. The cost is roughly the same as a service. But it might be 15 years plus until this happens.
Obviously if you've damaged the case and/or movement, it's a bit different. But in regular use, you might as well wait for it to stop.

Mainly because it's coming up 5 years and I figured she deserved a service, a bit of a clean and a once over.I do appreciate your 'if it ain't broke' philosophy - it's what's I've adopted for just about every other watch I own.

Goldsmiths will definitely be sending it to Omega - which is the best place for it to go IMO. My last service turnaround was around 10 weeks, so sounds about right.
Any other decent independent specialists seem to be absolutely stacked out with work at the moment and you could very well wait just as long.

Depends where you are in the country, I’ve used a small but approved shop in Portsmouth for both a SM300M and an old 60’s Constellation.
Good honest service, but as an approved repairer prices are iaw published tariffs though. One of the rarer Rolex authorised repairers too if you don’t like the likes of Goldsmiths just bagging it and sending it off.

Top tip if you take it off your wrist there over the counter it will be handed back in a official omega travel leather case, all the test certificates etc, not sure if they all do that though tbh…

In the past I would have agreed, but given my recent atrocious experience with the official Omega service centre in Southampton I can no longer recommend this. It has now taken them 9 months and four (four!) attempts to service my Seamaster correctly. Each time the watch was returned to me with significant issues that were completely unacceptable and should never have passed QC. Going through the usual communication channels got me absolutely nowhere - only after I emailed the CEO of Omega directly did anybody take any notice of me.
I was promised the watch would be sorted as an urgent priority and be back with me before Christmas - it's still not been returned. I was also promised a number of goodwill gestures that seem to have evaporated into thin air.
I don't know what's going on with Swatch Southampton, but whenever I used them in the past they were quick, communicative and the quality of work was always top notch. Needless to say I'll be going to independents from now on...
