I’ve been without broadband since 14th December as NOW broadband don’t seem to be able to connect me. I’ve always watched Netflix through my phone connected to the TV via Chromecast. Now I haven’t got Wi-Fi my phone won’t connect. I’ve searched the net and it looks like I might be able to connect my phone without Wi-Fi but I can’t get it to work. The phone can see the Chromecast code but won’t connect. Is it possible or do I need a travel router?

I think that the chromecast and your iphone both need to be connected to the same wifi network i am afraid.

I would agree. Once you cast your Chromecast is streaming it direct from Netflix (or other streaming service), not via the phone.

What might work is setting your phone up as a WiFi hot spot and connecting the Chromecast to that.

Either way Chromecast needs a connection to the internet.
