Porsche 986.2 Boxster S - Midnight Blue
Discussion
Hi all!
Here is my new to me 986 Boxster S. I am completely over the moon with it!
Picked it around this time last month from Scotland and drove it back to Surrey. It didn't miss a beat.
It is on 99,000 miles, but has fantastic service history. New Clutch and IMS bearing and rear main seal replaced at 94,000miles. New water pump, belt and low-temp thermostat installed in Oct 2021. New tyres and brakes all round in Nov 2020. All suspension components were checked in Dec 2020 and new front top mounts were fitted plus new front control arms to ensure no issues.
It has a few mods fitted, notably a Dansk Sports exhaust plus new 200-cell sports cats were fitted in Aug 2021. It has a carbon fibre front strut brace, wheel spacers (15mm front, 18mm rear), short shift gear mechanism, Cayman R side graphics.
The interior is grey, which I wasn't sure about from the photos of the car but it looks fantastic in real life.
I'm planning on using the car as a weekend toy and for weekends away etc. Have a boggo Fiesta for the commute

It is running well and touch wood no issues so far, except for an emissions light that comes on every few hundred miles due to my sports cats. No bother really as I can just clear it from my OBD2 reader.
The ride of the car on standard S suspension is great - it doesn't really roll much at all yet soaks up all the bumps on the road nicely. I will upgrade to M030 springs if the standard ones wear out at some point, as I've read they sharpen it up a little bit without going OTT.
I have unfortunately picked up a nail in one of my tyres, it holds air fine but a good excuse to fit either PS2 N rated tyres or PS4 in the spring.
I really am in love with the car, it feels a very special thing after being a Porsche fan since a young age and coming from hot hatches. The sound of it is incredible!
Cheers.

Very nice. Welcome to Boxster S ownership! 986 facelifts are very good.
I have 200 cell sports cats on my S and I get the low efficiency code come up every now and then especially if you do a lot of steady cruising.
If out for a thrash it never comes on.
Nice colour, more pics please

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I do indeed need to get some more photos, only had it out once when it hasn't been completely grey out so far. Bring on the sunnier weekends!

A quick update on the car, as I've clocked up a good amount of miles this weekend taking in some of the finer roads around Sussex.
Rather boringly, there isn't really anything to report! I'm yet to see any proper issue with the car. It is running fantastic.
The speed it is capable of carrying down decent road is so impressive, and the soundtrack isn't getting old anytime soon. Sports cats and a decent Dansk sports catback work a treat.
SWMBO even managed to admit 'its good', so I must be onto a winner!
