What am i looking for and Mrs V's Lease Puma goes back next month.

Wife wants a good car, nice/high spec. 4/5seats. Young as possible.
Daughter starting to learn in 1 1/2 years, would like her to have independant use of a car when she passes.
So Daughter needs small engine for low insurance.

Both want manual.

Think we could buy outright over a 2year period and then roll wifey back into a lease.

Think we can afford £10k ish, with me selling the mad mini track day toy (its not seen a track in the last 2 years) Could stretch further if something exceptional came up.

Quite liking the Hyundai i10 Premiums and Kia equivalent, although Kia is only 4 seats in '3' spec.

Anything else out there to consider?

V.

Obviously the MG brand has fallen in some people's favour, but for £14k, you could get a lightly used, or brand new if you can find a dealer, MG ZS manual.
I know it's a different type of car, but with that warranty, I would find it difficult to look past.

For a small hatch, those i10s are great cars, but I would probably get a Picanto, the four seats might be a good thing.

Rather than getting a brand new i10 that you will lose a load of money on, get a 3 year old one for half the price of a new one that still has 4 years left on the warranty, like this

edit: not sure that one even has a/c! Cars are pretty basic down at this price point! Here's one with a/c, but more miles

Or a brand new in stock Kia Picanto for under £10k, £2k off list

edit: again, don't think the above has a/c! which I'm sure you'll want, here's an older one with a/c

Kia Rio looks better than Picanto. We have some at work and quite good to drive considering the type of car it is.

I stayed away from recommending a 3 year old Hyundai i10 as I am sure Hyundai warranty is only 5 years now?

Kia is still 7.

Mamy thanks all.

No, after 2 years it will become our daughter learners car and then for her car to use.

Actually found a perfect car for wife and then daughter.

6month old i10, Premium, 1.2L, 5 months old, almost 4k off list.

Sign on the dotted line this morning

We've had an i20 1.2 from new, 8y/o now, costs buttons to run, takes loads of family/dog/rough track type abuse. Only complaint is the paints starting to fall off, oddest thing. Must be galvanised because it's not going rusty, not sure I can be bothered repairing it either.
