116 pictures and not one chassis pic...that says a lot...corroded aircon-compressor, hoses in enginebay look tired.....rusty clutch pedal (!!)...i pressume also a rusty chassis, delaminated windscreen....faded carbon on a-pillars.
no idea how the market prices in HongKong are for such a car....i only know that my low mileage Japan-Import Cerb cost next to nothing in japan....but you always have to add tansport (incl. risk of damage), import tax, customs, MOT, Administation-work for local paperwork etc....and finally a so called "bargain" turns out at the end to be just a reasoably priced car.

What's wrong with the engine bay? It looks fine to me. I've seen far dirtier on hire cars that are less than a year old. This car is from 23 years old. Not every one cleans the engine with metal polish and a tooth brush.

Mine looked like that. Brush, soapy water and polish on the airpipes works a treat, then a quick tart with a polishing wheel to bring the rest up, but looks clean, just not tarted.
And that's the point isn't it. I'd rather see it like that and then if I want it to be perfect, I can do what you did. When I see it all perfect, I wonder if it's been steam cleaned etc to hide oil leaks, or has it been in a crash and been repaired and has been steam cleaned to get rid of all the rubbing down dust.
The reality is that the car has much bigger issues than an under-bonnet that wouldn't pass an OCD person's test. The biggest of which is that it is in HK. How did it get there? How long has it been there? Who has serviced it? Did they know what they were doing? Using which parts, from where? What is the chassis like?
And you would have to worry about it's use in HK. It has probably only done very short trips and has sat in a lot of traffic in a pretty hot, humid country, which is hardly ideal.
And if anyone does want to import it back to the UK, the cost of a container is ridiculous at the moment. A friend of mine has just paid £10,000 for half a container to bring a classic racing car back from HK.

Someone’s bid £5000 for the Chim which is quite impressive if it’s from someone in the Uk and has to import it? Mad even
If the odometer stuck at 77,000 miles does that mean the cars only done 77,000 miles?
Odd mix of what looks like a good body and interior but the rest completely unknown going by this advert that completely ignores and makes no attempt to address what we here in the Uk know about these cars chassis.
Some rather poor painting in engine bay sets off alarm bells in my ears lol!
Adverts like these are either ill informed or rather deliberate in there lack of mention of the important bits.
Both cars lack regular care and use in the last few years at least by the look of them. An engine bay that's rusty and dirty is a very obvious sign of lack of use/ care, when things look like they haven’t moved or been touched for years and barely had a hand in there you have to question what or when it was properly serviced etc etc. Alarm bells ring.
You can only buy a Tvr via auction if it’s got a documented chassis refurb surely?
Who would go near these cars unless they are seriously cheap with adverts like these.
Poor show.

There's no vacuum advance pipe fitted, and yes the overspray and general 'furriness' of the alloy in the engine bay doesn't reflect well on the owner. Some tapping of the speedo face at 50 mph ish would get it working again.
Air conditioning but no power steering... At least it's had an aluminium radiator fitted.
Nasty aftermarket gearknob though. Is there a regular roadworthiness inspection in Hong Kong? And I presume they meant the auxiliary belt.....

It's over-priced now if someone is bringing it back to the UK, because of the import costs.
Yes there is an annual MOT style test in HK, but it won't involve lifting the body off, and we all know that is generally not until then, that the full extent of the horrors is revealed!
If being the important word there. Could this be a bid from a foreign land just showing in English pounds on the site? A British V8:classic and rare as rocking horse poo especially abroad might attract a few. You should try and be less negative you know.
