Buying without a v5
Discussion
I'm looking at a bike that is being sold as a previous cosmetic write off, but which is hpi clear and has a full service history. It's a £2k saving on what appears a clear bike. The seller is a trader who has fixed the bike but is selling without a v5. What's the risk- could the bike end up being registered as a cat n between now and the new v5 arriving? I can pay part on a credit card.
Thoughts?

Don't do it as I said get the seller to apply for the V5, when he has it go & buy it.
The above x10000If the seller is genuine and knows the bike is genuine they will have no problem applying for the V5, a £2k saving due to no V5 has a lot of alarm bells ringing very loudly

Sounds like he's bought it from a salvage yard as a lot of them don't come with V5's. I'd say the £2000 saving is probably because he knows although its HPI clear it should be probably be a Cat N/S. That marker could be applied later on down the line but tbh if you're making a £2k saving I'd say that's probably fairThoughts?
