hello all

hit a dirty pothole earlier and thought no damage had been done.

after starting the car up again it sounded different. almost borderline like it was going to stall.

now when driving

-yellow emissions light is on 90% of the time and flashes (never goes off)
- car sounds different - louder and more like a chugging train.
- acceleration is jolty and alot less power is felt. lower gears its very very jolty and chuggy

porsche 987.1 boxster

i assume ive smacked some part of the exhaust system underneath and either a split / or a bolt has come lose maybe?

any ideas?

thanks

If an exhaust catalyst has shattered things will get a little pricey.

update

tested the car today

light still on but the car feels a lot better, something still isn't right

the only thing that has changed was the car was not used for 24 hours so "cold"

A faulty coil pack will generally have symptoms similar to a faulty spark plug. Some of the most common tell tale signs that a coil may be defective include:

A rough idle - yes - revs are not sitting constant the needle is moving
An unexplainably louder-than-usual engine yep . louder and different sound
A noticeable lack of power - not always, but yes
A significant drop in RPMs while accelerating for no apparent reason not noticed
A blinking or intermittently activating check engine light yes, yellow emission light

Are there any emission sensors exposed under there anywhere on the exhaust?
