Investment Ideas
Discussion
Evening,
To cut to the chase i have circa £80k to invest and bit stuck on ideas..... I already have bits and pieces in LISA and S&S ISA which i have self invested and would like to keep on that track for now, but i've never had this much to invest at once. Want to put it all in S&S, no use for it in the near or mid term, but not sure where to put it (million dollar question!).
Was thinking something general, Vanguard funds: LS100, VWRL, FTSE Developed World ex-U.K. Equity Index Fund or Global Equity Fund, although can't quite separate them, from my understanding the LS100, VWRL and GLobal Eq are broadly the same? the other one is obviously only Developed world and takes out FTSE, so guess dependant on my exposure elsewhere. What is the train of thought either LS100 or VWRL? Was also thinking of putting some into other funds specialising in sectors like tech maybe SMT ( although need to think if it has had its day) and maybe a health fund as i can see that doing well in a post Covid era.
All thoughts, suggestions or probing questions welcome, just trying to bounce a few ideas around...
(and yes i've been a bit of a lurker!)

LS100 has a UK bias (approx 20% of LS100 is UK vs 4 or 5% based on global market cap). VWRL is a globally weighted large/mid cap ETF so no fractional shares, so marginally more admin. Global equity is active. Nothing necessarily wrong with active, but it’s different to LS100 or VWRL so know what you’re getting into. You pay higher fees for this. SMT totally different.
Personally I’d go for a boring passive global equity fund. But you need to have an investing philosophy which backs your choice up. Not just go for flavour of the month.
