A YOUNG British man who shot a nightclub doorman has been handed a reduced prison sentence after a judge noted he was evidently not an experienced gunman, having managed to accidentally shoot himself in the process.
Dwayne Eversley, 21, was jailed for 12 years at London's Central Criminal Court for shooting and seriously injuring Felix Doyley, a doorman who had just thrown him out of a nightclub for being aggressive.
However, on trying to open fire, Eversley first shot himself in the leg.
Along with his youth, such a bungle meant the sentence was not a severe as it might have been, Judge Anthony Morris told Eversley.

well on one hand you could argue since he was stupid enough to use a gun when he clearly didnt have a clue and therefore endangered society even more.
on the other hand a more experienced user of a gun should know better than to shoot someone and could be seen to hold extra responsibility because of that, whereas an ignoramus like this guy never had that knowledge and therefore couldn't be expected to know.
Either way I say lock 'em up, a nightclub is no place for anyone to be waving a gun around shooting no matter how stupid or smart you are, or think you are, and even the most dim witted of people should be able to understand that.
