Incredible move, this is the power of MS being a 2.3 trillion dollar business they have firepower Sony just don't have.

It will - but tbh how many games are Sony exclusive or even less Microsoft exclusive? The AAA titles aren’t compatible with limiting the audience to one console.

What it does mean is maybe Modern Warfare 2023 will be a Microsoft first launch title undoubtedly.

The thought of WoW coming to Game Pass is very appealing. Especially if they bundle the subscription in as well.

Candy Crush is the interesting one here - do smiley Microsoft rein in the monetisation of casual mobile gambling? biggrin

This game pass has been such a good move for Microsoft. They’re rapidly becoming the netflix of gaming now.

The new Xbox is fantastic also. Some of the features like remote play where you can play games from your Xbox on your iPad Etc are awesome.

I do wonder if we'll see an early release (say a week or 2) for new COD etc on PC and XB just to annoy PS players (and make them switch)

Oddly Ubisoft announced their own version a few weeks ago. Although to be honest I can't say I'm that excited about the possibility of being able to play Assassin's Creed 2018 Edition.

COD has made billions in revenue, 70 million players.

I fear though, Microsoft and I have one, are going too far and destroying indie developments.

that's been swapping back and forth for years. I can see them taking the game off PlayStation, that's what I'd do.

Seems a solid move for Activision after the recent scandals to take the money and let Microsoft deal with the fallout.

Now Microsoft has some great IPs to add to GamePass that makes it even more compelling. I'll look on with interest.

Wonder what EA or Square Enix will be thinking as I imagine some other big spender might want in before Microsoft gets buys them too (TenCent, Amazon etc.).

Not sure what Sony can do other than continue making compelling platform exclusive games like Horizon:Zero Dawn and bank on them drawing in the punters.

World of warcraft too and Candy crush.

$70bn is a massive amount of money, and it's all cash too.

But xbox exclusives could fight off PlayStation and Windows exclusives could fight off Apple and their new CPUs. Candy crush for the kids.

And VR/Metaverse content to take on Facebook long term.

It’ll be like what Battlefield did coming out a week early for certain customers.

Btw I don’t think the community benefit from this and if anything just splits the community.

Not a good time to be Sony, they have a console that no one is able to buy and may have far fewer third party games on it anyway

I don't think they will go too heavy with things like COD, that is a money making machine. However, all the little COD/Sony bonuses are going to become COD/Microsoft bonuses. Stuff like early access to betas, extended betas, the in game exclusive combat packs, extra loadout slots etc etc

Crash and Spyro could be exclusives though, and it's games like that which make the platform attractive to parents buying a console for their kids.

And yet they're still outselling the Xbox 2:1

They'd sell more if they had more stock available!
