Audi RS4 B9 vs Porsche Macan Turbo GenII
Discussion
Fellow Petrolheads,
Looking for some buying advice please. We're a family of 4 (kids being 7 and 12) and a single car family. I have the opportunity to buy either of the following:
1. 2018 Audi RS4 B9 - not the very latest with newer lights and new MMI but fully loaded with all possible spec including the black styling pack, exclusive colour, comfort & sound (360o surround parking & B&O sound), pano roof, dynamic steering, sports exhaust, driver assistance pack and park pack. amongst many other things.
or
2. 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo (GenII) - being a turbo again loaded with many things as standard, newer (larger) PCM screen, pano roof, Bose, 360o surround parking, in beautiful crayon with black alloys.
Both are on similar mileage and 1 owner and while the Porsche is around £10k more, I think both will depreciate at the same rate (having checked used prices for older models), so arguably while one is a different price the 'investment' is the same - in that I'll get roughly the difference back when selling. Both have similar engines, similar storage, and are similar sizes.
Which is the better car?
Any views on costs, maintenance, economy (ie - running costs), or are they similar? Ownership, driving pleasure? I don't think either car is 'wrong' but I'd like your opinion on which is 'most right'!
Thanks in advance for your help :-)

What did you decide?
I just bought a 2018 RS4 myself, on the basis that a Macan (GTS in my case) didn't have enough room for the family retriever and also that it's easier to put a roof box on the RS4.
Have to say am totally delighted with it - feels special everytime I drive it, handles as well as I need it to and looks very different to the (many) other Audis in our area. We seem to have a lot of S4 and S3s around here, but only a neighbouring street's RS6 holds a candle to our 4.
There are also a lot of Macans about. I feel like they're pretty samey except for the dark red Turbo I ocassionally see in our local park. 2015 but looks very smart. If anything I prefer the pre-lightbar look.
Look forward to an update if you've got one.

You value being different but trust me most people will see an A4 estate that's been given the Max Power treatment. I just bought a 2018 RS4 myself, on the basis that a Macan (GTS in my case) didn't have enough room for the family retriever and also that it's easier to put a roof box on the RS4.
