Hi folks,
We are starting to plan a trip up to Inverness from Lancashire and I wondered if any of you had any recommendations for places to stay near Edinburgh which would be suitable for 3 loaded up motorbikes. We would rather be around that area to give us a good start to get up to the Highlands.
The next step after that would be between Inverness and Plockton kind of area.

Not sure if the out of control bike theft is still rampant in Edinburger.. but you couldn't pay me enough to park my bike there.
it was pre Covid, maybe someone that lives there could update if the situation is still bad...
Just for context... I had my bike stolen and the Policy officers knew who it was, but were more interested in trying to threaten me with being arrested if I done anything about it/them.
Thankfully a very quick FB plea meant I got my bike back within 2 hours.. that was 3 years ago.

Lochcarron isn't too far from Plockton and near the Bealach. https://www.lochdubh.com/ Stayed here a couple of times and was very good.

Inverness is a lovely place, would recommend the Kingsmills Hotel and the superb Prime Steak and Seafood at Ness Walk. Lots of good pubs as well
Also, doesn't seem like there's that much point in going to Edinburgh with your intended route. Instead, I'd try the Broomhall Castle Hotel in Menstrie - bit out of town so should be safe enough, and a short taxi ride from Stirling if you want to go back out

Looks fantastic... I wonder how any times they went before it wasn't raining
As you're heading for the A93 you might consider having your overnight stay in or around Perth to get an early start before traffic builds up. Only place I can suggest is this https://www.ballathiehousehotel.com/ which is just off the A93 between Perth & Blairgowrie.
