How to get to the last post I've read

Apologies if it's been asked before....
Is there a way to return to the last post that I have read on a particular thread?
Some forums automatically take you to the next added post when you go back to a thread you've already read. It a bit of a chore to skip through countless pages on some of the more popular threads just to pick up where you left off.

This icon sometimes does it, but I think it's where the thread was last time you visited PH, not where you last read each individual thread.

Thanks but I'm not even seeing that icon on my screen. I'm using my phone rather than a tablet or laptop, I wonder does that affect what is displayed,?

If you try turning your phone landscape so that it rotates, you should see the icon that way, even if it is an iffy desktop format momentarily. Then turn back portrait once you're in the thread.

Just tested on my iPhone 11 and it's working for me, so hope that helps!
