Sony Vaio Pocket Music Player

Has any one got one of the above, the 40gb hard disk player VGF-AP1?
I've just installed it and I'm trying to transfer cd's the screen keeps telling me that no device can be detected, but the screen on the player says Data transfer mode connected to PC!!!
Have I missed something, the only thing I have done is downloaded the latest firmware and updated the device?

Do you need Sonic Stage software installed on your PC?

If you have installed the new firware, you need the new version of SonicStage too from the support website you got the firmware from.
