The Mrs told me a couple of weeks ago we were going to move onto oat milk. Oh right. (how bad can it be).
She is on these facebook groups where women get together to slag off their husbands, kids, pets, neighbours, co workers (yes the irony) and post photos of their incredibly disgusting meals which usually involve 7 types of cheese (again the irony). Apparently *they* are all drinking this oat milk to and I quote "save the planet from burning up" and "stop the cows from being abused". Right.
So, this morning I get up and make my Sunday morning coffee. Its the only day of the week I get time to do it properly so I quite like my half an hour enjoying my real coffee.
Today, I am on the oat "milk". WTF. Is this what the world has come too? The "milk" can only be described as very runny wall paper paste. Or more like what goes in a submarine.... if you get my drift.
My perfectly brewed coffee now looks like grey gloop and tastes like the contents of a mop bucket. FFS.
I get it, each to their own but what exactly am I meant do now? Black coffee it is then. (yes yes, waiting for those to chime in thats the only way to drink it bla bla - well I am not from Italy so I can drink milk just fine
)
If this is what the future holds for us then I want to stop the ride and get off please. That or I am actually going to buy a cow. And do people really drink this stuff? I have my doubts.
Well, that was a solid 2/10 I guess. /rant.

I have Oatly Barista in the fridge for when some of my tree hugging friends come over. I get my milk in a reusable milk bottle which comes from a locally sourced farm. I don’t know for sure that Karen the cow isn’t being inappropriately fondled in the process, but for me it’s close enough to being ethical and tasty.

Bees dying off because of mass glyphosate use is going to have a suitably large environmental impact. It’s carcinogenic as well, which might put a crimp in your day. Ask for her thoughts on that
