Hello,

I've got an old CG125 that's been in the back of the cupboard for a few years. I'm looking to get it out in the spring, service it and maybe make more use of it. I alway felt that I never really needed more power as I'm just not that talented! Appreciate that more power is sometimes better but I'm happy with the fuel economy of a smaller bike.

I always quite liked the idea of having an off road scrambler but I'm happy to keep to 125cc.

Honda CRF125F looks like the sort of thing but it's a much smaller size. Is there a larger offroad bike that's limited to 125cc?

Many thanks in advance.

Scrambling...thats a word I dont hear much anymore

Get a 125 2 stroke mx bike, Yamaha, KTM, Husky, Gasgas

That'll be interesting for you vs a CG125

What sort of off roading are you planning on doing? If you are just looking to to a bit of green lane type stuff you could stick some knobbly tyres on the CG and see how you get on.

Honda XR125 if they’re still doing them. The one I had back in 2005 was very capable as it weighed nothing.

Thanks all - yes this kind of thing but not 2 stroke if possible.

This post is awesome!

I'm 18 again and back in 1987!!

If you don't want a two stroke I suggest an XT 125.

Ha! That looks awesome and makes me think I can (maybe) save the old girl with just some knobbly tyres!

I guess that's a new speedo as the larger tyre size knocks out the calibration (or can they be adjusted)?

The whole thing is a massive custom job.

There are more simple mods that look pretty cool though.

You can get a speedo healer to correct speed. Though on a 125 I probably wouldn't be bothered about the speedo being a bit out.
