Another "What headphones" topic
Discussion
I've been reading through the various recommendations for headphones and still can't find what I'm looking for.
Wireless with a decent battery (30-40 hours so I don't need to remember to charge or turn off overnight)
Over ear a must
Couldn't care less about noise cancelling as all the ones I've used so far make my ears feel like I'm underwater / slightly pressurised
Prefereably with 100ft range so I can go downstais and make a cuppa
Must have a mute button so I can go downstairs and make a cuppa
This is for working from home at my office upstairs. Plenty of Teams calls during the day, I would like to be able to leave my desk during an awful 3 hour meeting to make a cup of tea, keep it muted and if I need to jump in I can turn the mic on.
Up till recently I was using a pair of Skullcandy Crushers, these were perfect in all aspects except they don't have a mute option. For now I'm using some cheap ones from Tesco after the headband broke on the Crushers (after 4 years of abuse so no worries on durability). Still no mute button and connectivity can be a pain sometimes.
I would prefer to steer away from the units that have a drop-down mic that mutes when lifted as I would laso like these to be my travel headphones and not get on the plane looking like 'H' from Steps.
Budget - I would prefer to keep in the £100-200 bracket but can go higher if needed but would obviously want cheaper if they're out there.

As mentioned on the other threads, there's loads of Bose 700s going for ~£150 on ebay currently.
They tick most of your boxes, noise cancelling is excellent, however can be turned off with a button press.
Similarly, muting takes just one press.
In addition, they connect to 2 devices concurrently, so you can take your music with you on your phone, while still connected to the laptop.

NC700's arrived yesterday. Very comfortable, but as ever, even with the NC set to level 2 (of 10) it still applies the feeling of pressure or blocked ears to my drums so I doubt I'll be using that function (makes me feel sick too).
At the moment, the mute only works when it is connected to the phone, which would be ok I guess if I join any meetings via my phone to Teams. But if I then join via the PC to view any presentations the sound is then lost from the phone.
I believe I need the dongle to allow mute from calls hosted by the PC?
Anyway, because of all this I have now had Teams access given to my phone so I can leave my desk as and when required.
