Changed oil at non-Porsche garage, reset service interval
Discussion
I track my 2021 Cayman a fair bit so thought it prudent to change oil earlier than recommended. I was changing brake pads at my usual local place and had them do the oil change after 8 months / 4800 miles of ownership. They reset the service interval in the car after that.
When I eventually try to sell the car at some point in the future, I don’t want the lack of official Porsche stamps in the service logbook to negatively affect the price; I also don’t want to invalidate my warranty somehow.
Normal service would have been after 1 year / 10000 miles.
Do I have any options other than taking it to OPC for oil change in 4 months’ time again? What would happen if I were to service it with OPC only at 1.5 years (at which point I’ll be at around 10000 miles, probably)?
