I saw this on an instagram story a while back, and screencapped it to see if I could figure it out, but it's been bugging me since and I'm still none the wiser. I thought it could have been a Toyota, as the shift gaiter reminds me of an AE86, but I couldn't find an interior that matched.

I believe the photographer is from a Scandinavian country if that helps at all

I agree with the OP. The warning lights in the dash with both symbols and letters say mid 80s/90s Jap to me as does the style of the wiper stalk. No idea what though - maybe a Toyota Carina?

The steering wheel spokes don't match the picture but that's probably just face-lift /pre face-lift.

Not a Tempra, they had round stalks with knurled knobs on. Shared with the Tipo and some Lancia and Alfa models.

This looks the closest! Googling it shows that they sometimes came with a two-spoke wheel that matched the photo too, thanks!

That is pre facelift - the instrument binnacle is satin and the switches either side are rocker switches. They were flush push switches post facelift.

I had one of each back in the day - pre facelift 1.3 followed by post facelift 1.4
