I have a Gaggia Brera which I bought a few months ago. The descale light came on so I bought some official Gaggia branded descaling fluid but I can't get the lid off the bottle! It has one of those child-proof lids that needs to be pushed down but if I do that it won't budge. If it does "give" is just goes back to turning round infinitely while making a clicking noise. There were three bottles in the pack and they're all the same, so I guess it's me that's the problem, rather than the bottle. Has anyone used any of this and managed to get the lid off? Either I'm doing something wrong or I'm going to have to slice it open with a scalpel!

Not sure if boiling water will affect the integrity of the fluid inside if it warms it up, but thanks for the suggestion.

The plastic feels like a scalpel will go through it easy enough and I have one to hand. I just wondered if anyone had experience of these bottles and there was a special technique to opening them.
