Very sad. Was watching him in action just the other night in a 1975 edition of "The Good Old Days". Very clever and funny.

Very funny chap

Keeping it ph , his Volvo 240 glt was up for sale only a few years back for about £3500. Wished I’d bought it.

Early memories of him on TV and his humour, wit and knowledge of English were a joy to watch. As well as educational in how 'funny' needn't be crude, offensive or banal.

Carmelite - part time monk.

When first said (ISIHAC Uxbridge dictionary in case you hadn't guessed) the audience didn't quite get it. He must have really liked the gag as he repeated it at perfectly timed other moments. Each repetition became funnier as the audience got it.

Genius smile

Colin Sell has played the Requiem. Slightly out of tune and time.

RIP Barry, an absolute genius.

True but I happened across Kenny Everetts Naughty video show last night on TV of which he was one of the stars and judging by the humour probably wrote some of it. It came complete with Snowflake warning about 70s attitudes and would be completely unacceptable in todays world. Funny as fk though.
RIP. Barry.

Sadly only audio, but his singing the Sex Pistols Anarchy in the UK to the music of Singing in the rain is so funny, and original.
R.I.P. Genius.

Years ago I went to a theatre production in North London, which I was not particularly looking forward to (The missus wanted to go) and up pops Barry Cryer on the stage, who I did not really know that well at the time.
He started off by saying that he had written to the producers of the show asking if he could be in the production.
He said he got a letter from them a few days later, and all it said was Dear Mr Cryer `NO YOU CANT'
He then said, `I wouldn't mind but they couldn't even spell cant properly!
He carried on the whole evening in that manner, and it was one of the best nights (Laughs) I had had in a long time!
RIP Barry, Bless him.
