Unify AP set up help
Discussion
Hi all,
I have normal wifi with an SFR NB6 router.
Last summer I set up a UNIFI AP access point, just so I could get wifi outside. Disconnected over winter.
I have just decided to plug it back in, but the app on my iphone cant and wont connect to it.
The AP is showing a solid white light (adoption mode) and when I scan the code on the back it asks if I want to connect, I click yes and it says unable to connect. AP is powered by POE and that POE is working OK. I do not have a controller, as per last summer I wanted to use the app as its a standalone device.
Even if I did want to download the software from unifi site, my mac air M1 chip wont open it because its a .BIN file....way beyond my capabilities!
Any help appreciated!

Can you re-check where you're downloading UniFi Network from? - am asking that because the MacOS file that I get is .pkg which aligns with their help topic about hosting the application yourself.

ETA: there's a reset button on the Ubiquiti access points (usually on the back somewhere) which takes them back to new/factory state, at which point they can be (re-) adopted. I had to do this when I bought one from Amazon Warehouse and whoever had returned it to Amazon hadn't forgotten/released the thing from their network/control, so I had to to be able to adopt it myself.

How is the AP connected? - I'm imagining network cable from router to POE injector, another network cable from POE injector to AP. Or perhaps single network cable from router to AP with POE available on the router.
Asking this because there are examples where a router has blocked discovery messages from app to device, and if you're not then close enough to adopt over Bluetooth nowt much happens.
