Desert Island Discs - singles only!
Discussion
I have searched before posting this, but could only find threads relating to albums.
So this, in the spirit of the programme, is singles only. So 8.
My start, no particular order, until the end as per programme…
Pixies - Where is my mind
Damned - New rose
Stranglers - Golden brown
Aretha Franklin - Respect
Stevie Wonder - Sir Duke
Metallica - Enter Sandman
AC/DC - Back in black
Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock
Now in theory, my ‘disc to keep’ would be Golden Brown, but as this is a desert island it probably should be Pixies due to ‘swimming in the Caribbean’.

Go on, I'll have a bash at this.
In no particular order of preference:-
Sister Sledge : Lost In Music
Queen : Bohemian Rhapsody
Dua Lipa : Be The One
ABBA : Mamma Mia
Soundgarden : Burden In My Hand
Rui Da Silva : Touch Me
Max Graham : Bar None
Billy Joel : Just The Way You Are
The "keeper" is Burden In My Hand

Sticking strictly to the thread title and going for singles rather than album tracks...
Pulp - Common People
Throwing Muses - Not too Soon
Talking Heads - Once in a Lifetime
The Undertones - Teenage Kicks
Feeder - Just a Day
Strawberry Switchblade - Since Yesterday
Dan Le Sac v Scroobius Pip - Thou Shalt Always Kill
Father John Misty - Please Don't Die
The keeper would be Talking Heads.
Luxury would be coffee, book maybe one of David Niven's autobiographies, and I'd swap the bible for the Koran.
All of the above could change tomorrow, keeping to eight is tricky.

Gosh. This is difficult.
Easy first choice, Together in electric dreams. I love this song, never fail to get me singing along, and probably the best song of the 80s.
Next, Bridge over troubled water. I think this is possibly the greatest song ever written. Gives me goosebumps every time.
Third, the middle by Jimmy Eat World. Another fantastic song from one of my favourite bands.
Fourth, Everything louder than everything else by Meat Loaf. A fine song by a fine artist. Can't help but sing along.
Fifth, Forever Autumn from War of the World's. This would be my album of choice, I absolutely love it, but if I could only have a song, it works be this
Sixth, hallelujah I love her so by Ray Charles. Just such a happy funky tune.
Seventh, Thunder road by Bruce Springsteen. Really hard to choose which of his songs but this one tells such a great story and I love the way it builds. This land is your land or the river could be interchanged. I can't decide which.
Eighth, Slipknot - Eyeless or surfacing. Again cannot choose but instantly transported back to 99 when they burst onto the scene, making our ears bleed. Love that debut album.
That was hard.
