Hi Team,
A general question, I am thinking to buy a car from a dealership. However, car is regd on Oct 2020 and hence got not MOT.
Is it reasonable to assume it’s fine to buy such car? Is there anything dealership can hide and liable if anything is wrong and I come to know when I do my MOT when required?

Edit: it’s looker Dealership which I have heard is reputable one?

Thanks
Mayank

If it's reputable garage, then it'll be fine.

Anything major should still be covered under manufacturer warranty - just make sure there's nothing been modified on the car that could invalidate the warranty such as an ECU map or something.

You could always just ask for an MOT if it makes you happy

Why MOT a car that has over 18 months until due as an MOT now will only be 12 months and will make people think it’s a taxi.

The car won't be due its first MOT until it's four years old. I wouldn't be suspicious in your position. It's not unusual for a car just over a year old not to have had its first MOT, quite the opposite in fact.
