993 Anti Rollbar Advice
Discussion
Help needed please.
What options or advice does this knowledge base have, on installing a H&R 993 adjustable anti rollbar kit with Powerflex black ploybushes all round and PSS’s, for 70% sprinted Sunday driving, 30% track work.
The car will be set up to RS spec including RS/GT2 front hub uprights, tie rods and mono ball adjustable top mounts.
I believe H&R kit is quite heavy duty being 26mm front and 24mm rear compared with RS being 23mm front 20mm rear.
Any thoughts?

I’ve just taken a pair off my 993 which must have been on for around 10 years, I cannot give a conclusion to your question as I’ve over the last 18 years I’ve slowly converted my car for track days although I never did enough of them to justify all the sub-frame bushes being replaced, a tilt kit fitted to the rear sub-frame, KW’s, Ninemeister engine conversion, etc. I loved the way it would fly around bends & roundabouts, no body roll, no need to brake, The rough road harshness didn't bother me, just a need to keep an eye out for potholes.
After 18 years I want to move onto something newer (getting too old) so I’ve taken off the big H&R roll bars and might remove the KW’s looking to soften the ride and make it more compliant (the poly & solid bushings themselves remove so much sloppiness).
The car currently is in bits as I convert it back to near standard, so I could give an answer when it's back on the road on its tiny standard-sized roll bars and consider the difference.

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your input, these are exactly my thought too.
I'm concerned that if the front end is too stiff, the car will lose turn in grip. It's a fine line.
The more I think about it, I feel that the H&R kit may have been design to be used with standard bushing and shocks. This would make sense why the bars are quite an increase in diameter over the RS ones..
