Last night I was coming back in London and as you know the speed limit before the sign is 70, while I passed the entry cameras with 70 then I braked suddenly to 50, I was wondering if I would get a fine, I can mention that I braked right after the cameras

Average speed cameras work by calculating your speed between two fixed points (i.e. between two sets of cameras).

These cameras do not measure instantaneous speed, therefore breaking for them won't make a difference.

Based on your screenshot, the cameras are the first set in the 50 limit, therefore it won't matter if you passed them at 70. As long as your average speed between this set of cameras and the next is within the prosecution threshold (usually 50 + 10% = 55) you won't get a ticket.

There's nothing you can do about it even if you have been caught, so there's no point stressing about it. Wait two weeks and see.

You could pummel through at 200 mpg if you wanted, so long as your average speed is 50 or below by the time you get to the next checkpoint

Hi I was going down the road that goes down from Upminster on the way to barking and the speed changed for 70mph to 50mph,I was not over 70 but I was way closer to it then 70.

Has anyone had a fined from there does the cameras work?please help!!!!
