My dream garage extension is almost done
Discussion
At the grand age of 51 years, my dream garage extension is almost complete.
Still need to spot repair the old concrete floor, then paint it and the ceiling, finish the bi folding doors and other bits and bobs.
My 2008 S Elise, 1999 Type 49 Elise and 1970 VW camper now have a warm, dry and lit home ??
The car that you can see a bit of, and is parked on the drive is a 1987 Pilgrim Hawthorn kit car.

Yes, photo of Hawthorn is on front drive, which then runs down the side of house to garage and rear drive.
The bi folding doors were my wife's idea, she wanted them to match what we have in the living room which looks out onto the garden. Photo of the doors below, still needs finishing of with cladding to hide the steelwork.
Also posting some photos of the inside, the ceilings need painting in white, and the floor in blue, I'm going for the Gulf racing colour scheme.
Expensive solution, but this is our forever home, and what happened to my parents two year's ago (one passed from Covid, the other from cancer), I thought f**k it, you can't take it with you.

Very nice!
Do you have see through doors at the front of the garage or is it a roller shutter or more normal garage door?
My garage is currently the opposite - one bay, with a leaky roof and in a poor state of repair. Thanks for giving me some inspiration for the future when I finally get around to refurbishing!

My dream garage would have a high roof and a 2-post lift for getting under the car easily. I'm constantly thinking about building it but takes a fair bit of cash to build a garage from scratch so the thinking stage is going to go on for a bit longer.
yes, my original plan was a 4m high garage so that I could stack cars, but in the end I did this, which I am very fortunate to haveThat looks great. Can’t wait to build mine where we are.
Trouble is I need to do house first so the added value means I can remortgage to do the garage. Doing the garage won’t add enough value to remortgage and do the house.
For anyone worrying about everything being on display, electric blinds can solve that. Remote control from the house when you want to see the cars.
I’d always do that anyway for when I was away on holiday or just out in general. It also offers sun protection to stop things fading.
Anyway lovely job OP. I’m very jealous.
PS. Type 49 is my fave but I’m a sucker for a VW bus.

Hi Mark, Thanks for your comments. Trouble is I need to do house first so the added value means I can remortgage to do the garage. Doing the garage won’t add enough value to remortgage and do the house.
