Reasons to feel cheerful...

Today I made the final repayment on a loan that I have had for 5 years. It's been a noose around my neck ever since I took it out, sure we got what we wanted out of the money (campervan, garden, once in a lifetime trip to Australia where my wife got to see her best friend from childhood get married when there was a concern she wouldn't make it that far due to the dreaded C) but it has been a long road to repayment and every time I looked at the annual statement made me feel like a right idiot for borrowing that much. But now, it's gone, I feel a little bit lighter today.
In the grand scheme of things it isn't that big of a deal, a first world problem but during those 5 years more than once has it kept me up at night when money has been extremely tight.
Anyone else feeling chipper today?

OP I had a similar feeling when I got into a lot of debt (£13,000 when my take home was £900 a month!).
Failed relationship was the cause of mine. I paid it off about 18 months ago and it was a great feeling! I think for me it was the constant reminder of the relationship.
I’ve got another loan since, but in a much better place money wise and it was for something I enjoyed. Plus I have a job I enjoy now so don’t mind doing overtime!

Yep, always try to look on the bright side. So many people have told us how unlucky we were to have a huge tree fall and smash our house up during a recent storm. Meanwhile I just think how lucky we were that the house absorbed enough of the impact before the tree landed on the kids who were in the firing line.
