New car delay - M135i

I ordered a new M135i back in September 2021. Originally was told end of year for delivery. Just before Christmas that was updated to be “likely end of March”. Last night I got a call from my dealer saying the process has reset again due to chip supply and I can expect the car “hopefully by June”.
What a disaster this process is right now. I’m now regretting flipping my previous car into them (because the price was too good to pass up) but I did that thinking I only had a couple of months to bridge the gap.
Options I guess are; wait, or cancel and buy used

When I bought my nearly new X3 in late Sep a few salesman told me any car with option’s was June July delivery, and even then it may not arrive with all your options, Harmon Kardon was particularly troublesome. Sounds like the salesman was economical with the truth

Thanks for the messages by the way. Unfortunately that colour choice isn’t for me and I really wanted an Alpine White one. My spec had all boxes ticked too so I need FULLY loaded.
At this point my position is to wait for the car I ordered unless a cancellation comes in but with the same high spec

Yep totally.. my post was for those about to order to see what it’s currently like.Problem is I believed the salesman when he told me originally “yep we can get this in for you by end of year”. So I sold them my F80 comp with 10k miles on it only to now find I’m carless for almost a year.
Gonna have to buy a banger to get me about

I'd take up the offer above, or call around a few dealers to see if they've got some build slots available.
I've just put an order in for a car and managed to get a build slot in March, for April delivery. It was a cancelled order similar to previous posts where I've been able to change the spec. The date did fall back by two weeks by changing the spec though.
Not a 1 series admittedly; I have heard it's a 6-9 month wait for an m135i at the mo.

I ordered my M135I early October 2021 and i was originally told March 2022 for supply
This when back to the 17th April then back to end of April then on the 17th of March i was told my vehicle had an unscheduled production status followed by another update last week telling me a delivery by the 15/09/22 so as good as a year to supply if they even stick to there latest update

I hear you and I'm in no doubt that a used M140i is a better looking car (externally at least) and would be the better drive. But in fairness, coming out of the M3 CP into the M135i wasn't motivated by "spirited driving" clearly. Specifically wanted a small car with awd and an autobox for the wife to use as a daily as we hardly do any miles now (had the M3 from new for 3 years and only put 8k miles on it) and wanted the latest tech and some performance for when I get to use it. I don't want the hassle of owning a used car etc and resale isn't something I consider when buying cars.. call me mad I cancelled my order I had placed in October 2021. When the dealership called and said they couldn’t guarantee me reverse assist in early March 2022. I see the option on and off with the online configurator. Looks like semi-conductor shortages will continue into later this year. Not to mention the wiring harness shortage because of Ukraine.

Park Assist Plus/Reverse camera is currently available. I’ve sold the Mat build now but I have a July build if anyone still interested Bumph1 said:

ah man, really? that sucks. I actually put a call in to my sales guy last night and he still sees mine in the system for End May/June. But I'm not holding my breath at all. Really not sure what to do as I really don't want to pay the used car premiums right now but we quite desperately need another car. Who knew that getting cars would ever be this hard?End of October now so that is 1 year plus

My M240I was built two weeks ago (week 14 in Mexico)) but delivery is still scheduled for late June/July....
progress I guess but how frustrating knowing it's now built but not with you. Fingers crossed for you that date comes in a little. Hopefully worth your wait as all I've seen are great reviews for the M240i. Latest update on my M240I order.... Been put back AGAIN...! Now build slot week 25 Delivery Week 36....! No definitive explanation just apologies from the Dealer who have confirmed it's not just my order and i will still be getting thier first car..... They tell my i can cancel and have my deposit refunded,obviously i'm not going to do that so September IT IS....
