I needed a new everyday wear watch, and spotted this on the Ashford Valentine’s Day sale.

Arrived today, a very nice looking watch indeed.

I know Glycine are not considered to be a high end brand, but I’m very pleased with it for what it cost.

Sorry the autocorrect got to the title, should read Sub not Sun!

That's lovely, a very under rated brand.

Cheers bud! Yep I’m a sucker for underrated brands, that’s why I have a few Oris and Edox too.

I’ve just taken two links out of the strap, and it seems to wear very nicely too.

It’s the right size for me at 42mm, I always find that 44mm watches are just a tad too big for my wrist.

Great watches the Combat Subs, and this looks a cracker. They just wear so bloody well. Super thin and downsloping lugs.

What was the deal? $450-ish?

Yep worked out to about £400 when I paid the import duty, so pretty pleased with that!

Yes I’ve seen a few Glycine models over the years, this one just looked right!

So true to form for me it was a complete impulse purchase!

Great to hear bud thanks!

Seems there is a lot of love for the Glycine brand on here too, I kind of wasn’t expecting that.

I had a business networking event to attend at Icentrum in Birmingham city centre last night, where we were exhibiting what we do with our drones to Create digital twins for our clients.

Of course that involved me doing a lot of one to one, face to face demos, and interestingly, three separate people commented on my new watch, saying they hadn't seen a watch with a green face and bezel before but they thought it looked very smart!

Been a very long time since I’ve had comments like that about one of my watches I must day.

The event was great too!

They are cool watches...this is my kmu48 which I have been using as an everyday watch for 5 years and it still works perfectly and has survived well.

Your watch looks very nice. Don't be afraid to wear it.

Cheers Bud.

Now that Glycine of yours looks very nice too, love the fully visible back to show the entire movement too.

Yep I’m very happy with mine, and I have worn it every day this week, which is usually a good sign for me that a watch is going to be a keeper and in use as a daily beater!

Nice one, I've had a Combat Sub for a few years now, still keeps good time and real smooth to wind and adjust.

Nice!

It seems that they are a lot more popular than I thought, which is always good to hear, especially as all who have posted are so happy with theirs too!

I’ve a glycine Incusore power reserve which I only wear occasionally because it’s huge and my wrists aren’t.

I've always fancied a combat sub, particularly the bronze versions, but - and I've said this before - I couldn't handle COMBAT on the dial.

Annoying irked

Do you know that had never even occurred to me!

It’s actually quite small writing and don’t style for the word Combat, and not very prominent at all.

So it’s not an issue for me with my watch.

Yeah, I seem to be alone in that observation. I can be very finicky at times!

I’m really pleased with mine as well, it hasn’t been far from my wrist since I got it just after Xmas.
