Any good website/forums around for sorting out family trees?

My brother has traced ours back to the 1700's but its printed out on massive A0 size sheets of paper that can't easily be handled to look at, and it could really do with tidying up and digitising.

Maybe they can suggest software to capture it, and perhaps add portrait photos next to peoples names etc. Would be nice to upload documents so when you click on someones name you can see stuff like marriage certificates etc. Are there any websites where your family tree can link into others to expand it? I'm thinking there must be some good forums or websites that can help? Or is ancestry.co.uk the main one?

Thanks. Not sure if ancestry.co.uk allows you to print stuff off, or do they make you keep it on their website with subscription fees?

or they have partnered with a company who will do large format printing.
you can also download your tree at any point in gedcom as an international standard

the best bit I have found with Ancestry is that you can invite other members of your family and give them access to the tree / parts of it and choose what editing they can do etc - so it is powerfully collaborative

Have a look at this free Microsoft download.
You can use it to create a digital family tree. You can also use it to read an imported tree created on Ancestry for example

Thanks so far.

I registered with MyHeritage website the other day to colourise some old black & white family photos, and I've noticed they also have a section to create a family tree so I've started filling it. It's quite good actually as a quick way of dumping names to build the tree, and can add photos and free text. When I get so far I may subscribe to ancestry.co.uk and transfer the data across in the hope of linking to any trees of distant relations...
