How to buy a PS5

Other than following stock checker twitter feeds, what is the best way to get hold of a PS5 at the moment? Is it still luck of the draw?

An option is to register for one with Sony, but that's then also luck of the draw, but they will at least contact you with an opportunity to buy one at retail price and you don't have to mess about etc.

Can do it through your PSN account I think it is...

I followed all of my nearest Game stores on Twitter when I wanted an Xbox X, they post frequently when the get stock of consoles. Each store has its own Twitter account. But you need to be able to get to that store the same morning to grab one.

Stock Informer channel on Discord. Went from no hope to two PS5s in a couple of weeks, this was in early Autumn.

I paid for a month of premium (£5) using hotstock.io - it worked very well and got one within 2 weeks.

I got an Xbox by following @consolestockUK on Twitter. I’ve seen them tweet about PS5 stock quite often, admin seems very reliable.

Facebook marketplace. £40 above list, sealed unit. I was happy to pay above the odds to save the faff, for all I despise resellers.

Discord is probably the best way. They use the same bots as the scalpers. You'll want accounts with the main sites so you can add to basket and buy immediately.

I've done stockinformer and nothing seems to have come up this year at all, either PS5 or XBOX. Is this everyone else's experience too?

Easy, bought one from Currys before Xmas but was a bundle

Managed to buy a cheaper one via Game so sent the Currys one back

The Discord channel is the way I got two late last year. Spent arguably an hour at it. Actually got the the point I could have bought another but delivery would have been slower so I didn't bother.

Facebook market place has loads. I paid £40 over list which was acceptable to me to get one within 1 hour of wanting one.

I received a notification on Monday the 21st that my buying window would be Wednesday the 23rd between 9:30 and 11.
At 9:30 I was initially in a 1hr queue and I thought no bloody chance of getting one but that dropped to 5m and I was able to order (after confirming the transaction in my banking app) the PS5 arrived less than 24hrs later on the 24th.

Really delighted with the PS5, terrific bit of kit and GT7 arriving on Friday.
