Whats the best track to find the limits of a 3R . . . . Good run off area's, good corners, friendly gravel . . etc.

Bedford is probably your best bet or an airfield day although most of them have abrasive surfaces that will wear your tyres quickly.

I always found Donington to be a good fast circuit, with enough to get you to the edge, so to speak.

Elvington is very good, with lots of run off. However, I will not take the M400 there. The surface is VERY abrassive, and there are a huge amount of stones thrown up, which don't go well with "soft" paint.

IMHO it's best to find the limits of your car away from a track day. So Bedford would be great if you can get a car crontrol course there (I don't know if anyone does this though).

Maybe start with looking for someone to provide the training and then see where they do it?

i love lapping donnington! i had so much fun in a little 205 once! the downhill is such an adrenaline rush...

Bedford is definitely a good track to find (and step over) the limits of the car without doing too much damage. It is a bit of a featureless circuit though and the GT does become boring after time. But you'll normally find there are one or two Palmersport instructors around at most trackdays there who will give you training.

I would suggest bedford for track, or Andy Walsh ( Carlimits)at north Weald for a training day, cheap and max of 4 people.
