3 Series Touring (F31) - Rear Ending Consequences

If an F31 was rear ended at moderate speed - would the rear door pop open?

My beloved dog travels in the back and I sometimes wonder what would happen if we were bumped from behind.

I'm thinking about getting a dog cadge fitted. If anyone has any advice on these, I'd be grateful.

Correct. Dog cage should be secured if you’re worried about it moving.
