Well, I'd have loved to have been able to watch the final five laps of the MotoGP race this afternoon.

But instead, they decided that because the race had been red flagged earlier and they had Rugby to cover, they'd just leave, unannounced and go to cover that instead...

The real kicker? The Rugby had at least 30 minutes of pre-view beforehand... Surely someone at the BBC could have used a little common sense and decided that 15 minutes lost of that and the end of the MotoGP thriller would have been a better option, thereby keeping everyone happy???

With MotoGP starting to rival F1 as the most popular motorsport in the world, you'd have thought the BBC would have taken notice by now. But then, it took them long enough to realise how popular F1 really was all those years ago, so who knows!?! Certainly the people in the control room at the BBC today don't.

I was at someone else's house, which doesn't have Sky, I normally do watch the Eurosport coverage as the commentary is far better, but today I couldn't and the BBC let me down.

So, I'm not a cheapskate.

Eh? I was watching it on BBC and saw the whole race. They cut away from the podium at the end, but we had interviews with the riders afterwards, a summary from the stunning Ms Perry and Steve Parrish. They cancelled a wildlife programme to extend the MotoGP coverage.

BBC seems to be increasing its coverage now that they know what they've got.

I turned over for the GP (semi-zzz) after the MotoGP race had finished. They did cover it to the end... perhaps a difference in regional programming?

It was a Northern Regional thing apparantly, so I've just heard. Still stinks though!

Ah, I guess they think that if you're Northern you must love Rugby League!

Coverage stopped on normal terrestrial BBC2 but continued on Freeview BBC2, well around here it did. (Northern England)
