Amazon empty box

Well after 20 years shopping with Amazon I’ve had an empty box arrive today ….

Item worth about 50 quid spoken on chat and they are sending another for delivery tomorrow.

I’ll video the opening of this one !

Item was supplied by Amazon not a third party seller so looks like some one helped themselves to it.

Was it one of those packages with the folded ends which you can easily pull open and refit. I don't know why Amazon use that kind of packaging without taping the ends.

We deal with Amazon a fair bit at work, the reason they don't tape it is probably because the cost and time spent on the tape is more than the amount lost in resending the products...

They're really good in this scenario. I received a package with 20% of what should have been in, quick live chat and I had been refunded in full even before returning.

No it was a sealed envelope type the ones where you have to pull the tab that rips all the way across

I had a near miss.
Ordered an i7 CPU from Amazon. Package turned up, and as it was for the boys PC I gave it to him. Luckily, before he opened it, he noticed it had an i5 CPU in the factory sealed i7 box. Probably not an Amazon employee, but very weird.
Amazon sent out a new i7 before I'd even returned the i5.

I’d say you were right, but they also don’t factor in the buggeration factor of having to chase them up and then wait in for another delivery as the customer

they'll have factored in everything, and probably A/B tested it across a few thousand people.

I ordered a replacement battery for my Mums phone and had it sent to her address. I told her to call me when it arrived and I'd pop around to replace it. She rang up saying the package was empty. So I went around and it did seem empty, but felt a smidge heavier than an empty package. I checked and the battery was caught in one of the folds of the packaging.
