Parking sensors V8V

Replaced a couple of parking sensors on the rear (2 outers).

The car is still on axle stands and close to various bits and pieces, both front and rear. Will the sensors be operative yet ? The switch works to switch them on and off (goes red when off), but I’m not sure when I will hear clicking from the sensors, or beeping from the system.

All is quiet at the mo, however, the engine is also off and I’m just using the key in the dock to provide power.

If the ignition is on and you have engaged reverse gear, they should function.

I think you'll find the switch goes red when the sensors are on - that's how I know I have turned on the front PDC's when I'm entering a parking bay

The manual says to turn them off by pressing the parking sensor button, which will then go red.

Will just need to get it out of the garage and get someone to walk in front of them.

Interesting. My 2015 manual says, on page 5.18:
The parking assist button LED will come ON when the system is set to ON. The LED will flash if a fault is detected in the system.
