made a £70 order online and the goods never showed up -seller gone silent ignoring emails and phone

i paid with a debit card via sagepay on the sellers site

how do i proceed when being ignored

Contact the card issuer.

Last year I bought a simple lightswitch. £35.

Then another lockdown happened so I waited. An waited. And waited.

I called and someone answered and took my details but I heard nothing more.

I then did a bit of digging and it was an online business run from home belonging to a couple.

I just called my bank and did a chargeback.

Visa gives similar protection to debit card holders as with credit cards. Sometimes you have to force the situation by saying the complaint word if the agent isn't aware or cooperative.
