Are these issues major and worth rejecting a car

I purchased a 2018 corsa with 15k miles. One previous owner and full service history.

The car had a few problems after I purchased it and today the garage who sold me the car confirmed the call needed the following replaced. Are these major faults? Should I get the repairs or reject the car for a refund.

Spark plugs
Coil packs
Purge valve
O2 sensor
MAP sensor

Thats all standard stuff for a Corsa, you just need to add coil springs for the full set.

Spark plugs/coil packs are consumable items and not that expensive and not something I would think you can reject for.

How much have they quoted you for the rest?

Do you have a warranty with the car?

Have you spoken to the garage you bought from and asked them to fix it?

I'm guessing a misfire, ecu light and surging idle.

Let them fix it.

If you are nervous of having a car with a lot of faults a Vauxhall Corsa probably isn't the car for you.

Nothing, particularly. Even if the small engined ones are dog slow. This sites members have the most perverse disdain to anything Vauxhall.

Sorry they are just a very average car & in my experience working at a Vauxhall dealer a few years ago they are not a model of reliability I don't expect the problems you are having now will be your last. I drove a Mazda at the time never even considered a Vauxhall

I’m also saying let them fix it. So many dealerships fob you off but it’s positive this one has identified the issues and are willing to sort it. I don’t mind that generation of Corsa, they’re pretty decent cars.

Purchased the car last week and the faults became apparent on the day. Informed the seller the next day and then examined it yesterday and confirmed the faults within 2 hours.

You can’t reject it unless they have some scheme that allows you to do so, like a 30 day swap / money back offer. Legally they have to be given one opportunity to fix it, if it subsequently fails again you can then reject it.

I’m sure someone will be along with the exact legal niceties and act.

Thanks. So technically you are entitled to reject it as the faults happened in the first 30 days.. So it's your call whether you want to allow them a chance to fix it (presuming you haven't already authorised the works)

The relevant legislation is the 'Consumer Rights Act 2015' so if you google that in conjunction with 'car rejection' you'll get lots of good info.

Yep, I see no problem here.
Let them fix the car and then see how you get on with it.
Nothing wrong with a Corsa or any Vauxhall for that matter.

That’s all typical stuff that doesn’t last forever, all that brand new is better than a car that needs them a year later.

If it’s free, keep it.
