Hi all,

In the past I have generally had a 3 car household, which compromised of my company car, partners dull yet fairly new car and an older ‘toy’.

The older car has always been something of interest that is fun to drive on weekends, road trips etc. Recently however, I have changed jobs and now run a cheap runaround instead of the company car. Meanwhile the interesting car is in the garage and we end up using my partners car for joint trips with our dog.

My thought process is do I keep running an older car that costs money to maintain etc, whilst using the cheap car or do I buy something newer and interesting that I will actually use regularly without worrying about bills (which have got tiresome recently for me).

I currently own a 996 carrera, MINI Clubman & my partners CX-30- I am going to be selling the 996 regardless, but do I go for another older car or spend that money on an interesting daily and replace the MINI?

Any experiences of doing this sort of car reshuffle?

If I carry on old, I would be looking at a 987.2 Cayman, Elise, e46/e92 M3 among others.

If I go down to one car, it would be M2 Comp, GR Yaris, Civic Type R as I would need some practicality if using daily- I might even pcp or something if going this way and pocket the cash from the 996.

Sorry for my ramblings, any thoughts or experiences are appreciated- along with car suggestions.

Mr E

I am likely dropping from 3>2

Currently have a commuter, a family bus and something fun.
This will become a single family/commuter EV and a compromise second ICE car that’s fun but seats more than 2.

I’ll miss the elise
