Morning all

I lost my Samsung phone this week and as its synced with Onedrive for photos I thought I'd better copy the photos from the "Samsung Gallery" folder to another on one drive in case they get deleted when I set up my new replacement.

The transfer speed is so slow, literally 1mbs at times even lower, I'm only moving small chunks at a time so not high size files, my question is why when I'm only going from "onedrive" to "onedrive" is it so slow? my internet is FTP 150mbps with BT and hits that all day long, i pay for the premium office 365 package too.

If anyone has experienced this loss of phone with one drive and can let me know how the sync works e.g one drive deletes them from phone gallery but not sure if phone gallery being lost deletes it off the onedrive?

I can’t answer as to why it’s so slow, I suspect it might be to do with the nature of copying down from the cloud and then back up to the cloud.

I suspect it would be significantly quicker to log into the online interface and do the copy from there as then the data transfer remains within the cloud

Thanks for that, you may be correct, I just hovered over the cloud icon in the tray and its states XXX downloading @2.mbps & xxx uploading @2Mbps

Looks like its downloading them then re uploading, no wander its been doing it since 8am!

Log on to onedrive via web and move the files there so you're not downloading
