2016 530d - 99,000miles

Hello, long term lurker here.


Currently looking to purchase a spacious diesel family wagon as we moved house and need to do 50 mile round trip a day.

Saw a 99,000 mile 530d on the automatic trader website (wasn't sure if I could post a link) for £16,990

Awaiting service history files from them, but a paid for online check looks good with no issues.

The garage seems to have only 2 reviews and it's in a little unit in an industrial estate in Dewsbury.

I wonder what could possibly be hiding that an online check wouldn't pick up. The dealer location makes me feel uneasy for some reason.


Any pointers would be gratefully received!

That looks like a nice car with a decent spec.

That engine is generally very reliable.

MOT history looks good.

It's had a few owners and I'd put money on it's first owner having it for 3 years and clocking up 74k miles for it's first MOT.

The only thing that springs to mind is the rear suspension as I think these have air suspensions so just make sure that both sides are level and even. Replacements are cheap though.

According to the check, owner 3 was in possession by 19/08/18. Which is the third owner by age 2 1/2.

Current owner took possession this time last year.

1st owner,,,,dealership as a demo /courtesy car or worse a hire company all of who pre covid were on 6 month fleet changes
2nd owner buts at 6 month old big discount from new but still has 3 yr warranty...runs it till the warranty runs out ?

Dewsbury is virtually a suburb of Bradford.......

I did not. The comments about Dewsbury are what was causing the discomfort for me.
