Hi all, recently received my seats back and very surprised to find they don't match any part of the interior.

I'm wondering if they have actually used the correct leather? Only cost a grand to re-trim so I didn't want them perfect or anything!!

What do you think? Maybe this is what new classic grey looks like?

Hard to say as sometimes the lighting in the photos can affect the shade, but it looks like the GT3 seat is marble grey and the passenger seat is classic grey. To my mind the GT3 seat is a better match than the old one (look at the comparison with the steering wheel boss - again it might be the light playing tricks).

I agree the photo doesn't do the seat any favours, but I've just cut some leather from the back (so as new) of my original seats and placed it on a gt3 cushion - the original seats were much darker - th gt3 seats have a purple tint to them!

So, which is which? Is the purple tint (gt3 seats) marble or classic?

Hi Alan,

The GT3 seat colour definitely looks like the marble leather in my 993 rather than the classic grey you needed.

Good Luck.

I've spoken on the phone and he's agreed to take a look - obviously

I have made it quite clear that I either want a full refund or them re-trimmed. I could have got any old trimmer to do them in any old grey, or left them black and saved myself 3 months and £1K....

Good luck sorting this...I hope the trimmer doesn't suggest that grey leather paint.....

Good luck Alan - the trimmer that you used (if its the one you told me about) has got a good reputation and you'd hope that they'd want to keep it that way by re-trimming them for you. Keep us posted...

ZB, I took your advice and removed the refund/retrim from my letter. I'll let you know the outcome.

How incredibly frustrating. I would be surprised though if Southbound don't admit and make good their error.

OK, in his expert opinion - they are the same colour.

WTF! Can you believe this? Anyway, cut a very very long (56 minutes to be precise) story short, he will admit that he is wrong if I can send him a sample of leather that is a better colour match than what he has used!

I made it very clear when I sent the seats that they were an exact colour match and I wanted the seats re-trimmed to match the existing colour - he's pulled the leather off the shelf and trimmed them without comparing the old and new.
He has said he will request some more samples from his supplier and send them to me; if I can find one that's significantly different he will retrim them.

Talk about Judge, Jury and executioner!

It does sort of suggest that he recognises that what has been done is not quite right. Otherwise what would be the point ...
