Fiat Tipo. What’s it worth?
Discussion
Afternoon all.
I’ve been offered a tidy, 2 owner, 100% original, 115’000 mile, rust free Fiat Tipo 1.7D.
It almost seems too good to break for parts, but it would make a decent temporary stop-gap motor for the Wife for a couple of months. The thing is, I don’t want to be stuck with it, (we have 8 cars and counting), nor do I have the time for another project.
So the question is, what’s it worth?
Thanks in advance

Quite a forgotten car to most people, as always one that flew under the radar.
A guy I know has 3 of them, all in different states of roadworthy-ness.
Difficult to value something so obscure - don’t imagine there’d be a queue of people wanting to buy it, but got to be about £1200/£1400……..possibly?

Thankfully both of your figures are well below the price the guy is asking for it.
The only downside is that many of the service parts, (cambelt kit, water pump etc), seem obsolete, although I confess to not digging too deeply around the internet.
@ Dr Interceptor & Brinyan, thanks for your replies.

When i saw the title of the post,i was interested as i have had around a dozen tipo's,then i saw it was the least desirable model, then i saw the indication of the price, it would need to be really really nice to be worth much more than £1000.
Least desirable? Probably so, but it is two owner, very solid and IMO, too good to break.I did have the idea of building it up into a 16v, but so many parts seem almost impossible to find.
Anyway, here’s a pic of it this morning outside of work.

What price is he asking then? The only downside is that many of the service parts, (cambelt kit, water pump etc), seem obsolete, although I confess to not digging too deeply around the internet.

It’s due it’s MOT next month. With 12 months ticket he’s after £450. There’s an exhaust leak, (centre-ish section I’d guess), so it won’t pass without repairing or replacing some of the exhaust.
I’d hope to get it for £300-£350 with no MOT on it.

The last car I scrapped last year went for £220 so getting it for £300 seems ok, even better with an MOT.
