Britbox Buffering - anyone else?

I watch Britbox using the app on my BT TV (Humax) box.
I have no end of problems with the app freezing the BT box, which means switching it off at the mains. It generally freezes as soon as playback starts, or when pressing the "back" button to select a different series in the "continue watching" list.
I've had buffering issues a couple of times, and these also tend to freeze the app.
In several years of using Prime Video, Netflix, and iPlayer, I've not had a single problem.
My conclusion is that Britbox was developed and run on the cheap. A real shame, as there's a lot of good stuff on there
