Hello,

I am slightly bricking it here.

I regularly travel on the M42 Northbound via the M6 Southbound from central Birmingham. As I'm sure you know, there is 2 speed cameras on the sliproad at Junction 4a with a 50mph speed limit (why that is I do not know, every time I pass it, they're doing nothing, probably some HS2 crap).

Yesterday, I was on that sliproad, and I went past the first speed limit at 50. Then I passed the second camera (I swear I did anyway...) still doing 50.

On the approach to the M42 itself as the road bends, I began to speed up to 70. In my right wing mirror as I was about 55/56, I saw two flashes, and I'm now very worried that I've just been done.

My question is to all you lovely Pistonheads:

- Do you recall where the cameras are on this sliproad? The first one I 100% went past doing the speed limit, because I always remember to set the cruise control to that when I'm on it. The second one, I can't remember where it is, and I don't know if I've been flashed or if it was someone else.

- I have only very recently moved here from Northern Ireland, if I have been caught, do you know what will happen to me? I really, REALLY don't want points. Plus, the car is still registered to my NI address, so I don't know what the rules are regarding me doing a speed awareness course.

Thank you for your help smile

I’ve just had a speeding fine for 59 in a 50 on this M6 M42 4a slip road
I followed the 50 but then there was no signage I can remember at the slip road so I accelerated as I assumed it was back to normal speed .
Does anyone know how far back the last 50 sign is before the junction. ??
I’m not sure wether to appeal it
