Covid testing not fit for purpose question , help needed ple

Bit of advice needed for someone who booked and paid for a self administered test online , this including a drop down box showing which country was being visited.
Found out later that a self administered test wasn’t sufficient for entry.
Contacted supplier on the basis of the service paid for didn’t fit the entry requirements, they’ve replied it was up to the purchaser to know this beforehand, although the drop down box did not highlight that the test wasn’t matching entry requirements.
Anyway after discussing with supplier no refund will be forthcoming.
£120 wasted , any of our learned friends point me in the right direction legally ?

I'd imagine you'll need to write that one off, can see you spending many multiples of £120 and a huge amount of time before you get any worthwhile recompence. Was there any sort of disclaimer or some T&Cs that you signed before paying?

Letter before action, give 14days for a refund, then use MCOL to take them to court. Doubt they will fight it, and cough up.Found out later that a self administered test wasn’t sufficient for entry.

What was the purpose of the drop down country list if they say it's all up to you anyhow?
I think it is indeed down to reading the full T&C and what they were offering for the £120 but if they make it clear all they are offering is the test (rest is up to you) then it will be tough. I would have thought they could at least give you £60 back but it seems they are not thinking along the lines of compromise.
With these tests probably ending soon maybe that is also why they won't budge as the easy money for them is over soon.
